Settling in....

A pic of my NEW CAR !!!!!!
A week ago plus one day I arrived here, and am really settling in. Missing my kids and a couple of special friends that I left behind in Wyndham VERY much, but I will survive. The weather here is fabulous, every single day since I arrived it's rained. Sometimes for 3-4 hours, and I LOVE that after Wyndham's dry, (so far) hot "wet" season.
I've checked out some of the local haunts, had dinner last Wednesday night at the Croc resort, bluddy hell, what a beautiful up-market venue. Can't get over the variety of places to wine and dine at. Remember dear readers, this is a town of only about 600 people - but it's the tourists (bless them) who we have to thank for these great facilities. Sitting in the dining room at the Croc was as good as being in any overseas resort anywhere I've been.
Then back to good old small town hospitality - 3 of us chose the local club on Friday night for a few quiet ones.... Had a good meal, joined up ($11 a year - including the members card WITH photo ID) then walked out with the meat tray.
GOD I LOVE A GOOD MEAT TRAY !!!! - We're talking BIG here, at least $100 worth of meat - wouldn't be a vegetarian for quids!
Had a night at home the next night, few wines and a small dinner for four, and today I am alone for the first time since last Tuesday.
So, after spending several hours waiting for broadband tech. support to call me back and get my internet sorted, I bit the bullet and somehow managed to do it myself.

Great stuff - sorting out your net without the technician. Most of the times it isnt as scary as we think. I have been checking in everyday to see if you have updated. Glad to see you have settled in. I love small town hospitality - if only Cobar knew how that worked!!! You get treated like a pheasant (sp) here big time.
Love to the family and hope you enjoy the new job.

Thanks guys, have replied to your wisecracks already, but due to broadband problems it didn't publish my reply. Yes Jes, a Holden Rodeo, V6 4x4, and being my first real 4x4, I feel pretty cool in it!
Aim to update this blog regularly, just gotta get it all working proper first !!!!

I bet you feel pretty cool! And 4x4.... you can park anywhere - up gutters, on top of big dead tree (LOL do you remember that Jen?) Pin, i have to tell you the story. There was a car full of girls cackling away heading to a bush wedding last year and jen was driving her prado. Anyway, there was no where really to park and jen thought "dont matter, i am in my 4x4" and she parked right on top of a big dead tree root. It was very funny and we got some photos (the root was the size of a small car) LOL.

Oh, shut-up jes!!! haha.
thanks for reminding me!

Pin, i'm a bit ditzy at the moment, but where exactly are you living? You probably said it, but i can't remember!!
I was looking up some weather maps yesterday & typed in 'kakadu;.. so is it a town, or just a national park? Oh, i'm confused..

Gotta love a lifestyle of being able to eat out at a good variety of places... much like ours was before the kids come along.

Makes you feel quite social and all, rather than staying at home for spaghetti on toast!

I'm looking forward to hitting Grammy and Poppy up for some babysitting when we get to BH, so that we can go out for the occasional meal...will be heaven!
