In the supermarket yesterday I realised how much of the every day side of this place I will miss. Doing a quick shop with my really really great friend Jane, 5 minutes turned into 15 as we stopped and chatted to everyone in the isles - and we're talking very small isles here (4 metres long) , and very FEW isles (3). There wasn't one person that didn't at least smile, and most, including the owner on the checkout, chatted and laughed with us. The Post Office is the same, Robin (Jane's best friend) and Lyn are always ready for a chat and a giggle, ditto the bottle shop (on the rare occasion that I go there) and the video/electrical/clothing store - is that still known as habidashery Jane?? is also a social occasion in itself. I wonder if I would have noticed with such clarity how friendly the whole damn place is if I were not about to leave??
Pics....
That's Jane and Robin all done up in their sari's for my birthday party a cupla years ago - Indian theme natchully.
Then there's one of Robin all dressed in pink for last year's Breast cancer party.
The group shot is just another of the "ladies" do's here in Wyndham. Never have I been to a place before where MOST people get along well, and women gather when summoned to party, celebrate, congratulate, cogitate or just drink champagne for absolutely no reason at all. God, I will so miss that.

'Walking in the Park and reminiscing' ....
We ALWAYS notice the small joys in a place when we are about to leave it. Shame we can't always appreciate them whilst we live there, hey?
