Rain Rain Rain

Well,
what an adventure....
That's me in the car park at work.
It's been pouring with rain for days now, there's more water around than anyone's seen here before.
We've just enlisted two choppers to evacuate people in from outstations, and I've just had to do some panic buying from the supermarket to make sure we have food for the oldies. Unfortunately we were beaten to the post, but managed to get some tinned fruit etc. It looks like nothing will change until at least Monday, and that's only if the low doesn't turn into a cyclone. The one off north Qld. looks more threatening at this point, but our rainfall since this time yesterday is about 8", which makes it about 20" this week so far, which, come to think of it we used to get in Qld, but I guess that part of the world was a little more used to it than here.

Have been in contact with my mates and family in Wyndham and it's still bluddy hot and (mostly) dry there. It's so nice to be able to wear jeans to work instead of the half-masters that I've been working in for the last 5 years!

How exciting, an emergency services meeting at 8am tomorrow to discuss our options for the weekend and next week.

New job, new experiences!

You haven't gone under yet, have you? Can I get a glug glug?

Lovely to hear of all that rain - it will be a novelty for a while at least, when you're used to dryer conditions.

Horrible and steamy here. It's been trying to rain all week, but I think you've got it all!

Hi Pin,

Hows your weather at the moment? Cyclone George got you yet? I am so glad I am not at work at the moment - they are on red-alert!
